Overview

The Head Golf Professional is responsible for all aspects of the golf operation and works closely with the General Manager and Golf Course Superintendent to provide the highest quality golf experience. The Head Golf Professional is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the golf operations and ensuring the highest standards of service, professionalism, and enjoyment for our customers.

Experience Required

• PGA membership or equivalent certification preferred.
• Proven experience as a Head Golf Professional or similar role.
• Strong leadership and management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• In-depth knowledge of golf operations, rules, and etiquette.

Essential Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of golf operations including tee time reservations, customer experience, staff management, cart fleet management, and pro shop merchandising.
• Ensure efficient and smooth operation of daily play, leagues, and outings.
• Implement and enforce golf course policies and procedures to maintain safety, pace of play, and quality standards.
• Hire, train and supervise golf staff including starters, rangers, and outside services personnel.
• Provide exceptional customer service to customers while maintaining a positive and upbeat presence.
• Promote and manage our weekly leagues and run outings and events
• Provide new and exciting ideas to help maintain and grow rounds and league participation.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure the best possible customer service for our customers while on property.
• Manage pro shop inventory, including ordering, pricing, and merchandising of golf equipment, apparel, and accessories.
• Implement promotions and sales strategies to drive pro shop revenue and enhance the retail experience for customers.
• Monitor sales performance, analyze trends, and adjust inventory levels to optimize profitability.
• Work with the General Manager to develop and manage the golf operations budget, forecast revenue and expenses, and monitoring financial performance.
• Maintain accurate records of golf activities and transactions including opening/closing reports, daily register deposits, and other POS reporting and analytics. (Club Prophet POS)
• Participate in strategic planning and decision-making to support the overall goals and objectives of the golf course.
