Southwest Care Center is looking for a full-time Family Medicine Physician (MD/DO) with experience in HIV / HepC / Gender Equity Medicine and who has strong commitment to community health in New Mexico. Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, the Primary Care Physician is responsible for providing primary care to individuals living with HIV/AIDS and their families, as well as managing a diverse panel of non-HIV patients in an outpatient environment. Working both independently and collaboratively with members of the SCC interdisciplinary team, this position uses strong diagnostic, assessment, and treatment skills along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to ensure equality care and positive outcomes for patients. The Primary Care Physician will be a part of a passionate team focused on delivering quality care to underserved communities in New Mexico.
Practice Highlights:
- Monday - Friday 8-5 typical schedule with 32 hours of scheduled patient care and 8 hours of administrative time per week.
- System-wide Athena EMR.
- Average 15-18 patients per day.
- Onsite care team includes Physicians, NPs, Physician Assistant, Clinical Pharmacists, Behavioral Health Clinicians, Case Managers, RNs and RN Clinic Managers, Medical Assistants, Pharmacists, Health Educators, Registered Dietician.

Candidate Highlights
- Must possess a Medical Board license MD/DO (State specific) in Internal/Family Medicine/Adult Gerontology/Infectious Disease Post-residency experience with 3+ years preferred in a primary care setting.
- HIV, HepC, Gender Equity Medicine highly desired.
- Valid NM and DEA license.
- Prior experience in treating and diagnosing HIV/AIDS clients in an outpatient primary care setting.
- Must obtain AAHIVM Certification within 18 months of hire.
- Current BLS is required.
